Visiting Petworth House

ree

Hello and welcome back to Rarars Adventures, thank you for joining me, I hope you are all well.

This month we have been out and about visiting Petworth House.

This was a lovely place to visit and I'm really looking forward to sharing what we found out.

We took the mobility scooter with us, so I can let you know how that went as well. Petworth House has been in the same family throughout its 900-year history, That in its self is pretty amazing. It also holds a fantastic world-class art collection, and the house its self is absolutely Beautiful, the majority of the house is wheelchair friendly, other than a couple of places with steps that can't be changed because of the age of the house, they have a downloadable app with a talk about the house, and interactions for the kids, be them big or small. The grounds the house sits in cover 700 acres, all of which is picturesque, and takes your breath away overlooking the south downs, which inspired many watercolors of Petworth house by JMW Turner's which can be viewed on your visit to the house, the grounds are divided, The house grounds have some graveled areas, but are wheelchair and scooter friendly, (also if you check out the short film you will be able to see how the mobility scooter managed on the gravel) and the Deerpark may be a little bumpy if you're in a wheelchair, there are walking trails also suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

They have a cafe there which you can eat in or take away, there are some steps leading up to the cafe.

they do offer a wide selection of different food including different dietary needs as well.

if you are disabled and are visiting the house you can contact Petworth house before your visit and they will give you the code, for the double gates behind the house itself for your car, so you are on the grounds and won't have a long walk.

There is a lovely walk around the gardens with plenty to see and do check their website for different events they are holding throughout the year.
