Littlehampton ShopMobility

ree

Hello, Welcome back to Rarars Adventures. I hope you are all well.

This month we did something a little different and we stayed local, to visit Littlehampton Shop Mobility.

Why? because yes it's local to me and people probably know about Littlehampton Shop Mobility, but I was thinking of people who come down here on holiday to visit, and may want to know what there is here for people with visible and invisible disabilities, to be able to hire while on there visit.

This is to share with people what Littlehampton Shop Mobility is about and what they have to offer.

Littlehampton Shopmobility Charity Number 1070129

Littlehampton Shop Mobility is an independent charity that our supported by grants donations and fundraising.

They have a shop with a range of mobility and disability aids, and brokerage services to sell your scooter, rollator (walking frame), or wheelchair, they also sell new scooters.

There services

They offer a range of services to meet most of their member's requirements. To those who own their own scooters, through their PitStop service, they carry out routine maintenance at a very competitive price.

This comprises of general overhaul and checks battery life and tyres. they also valet the vehicle at no extra cost.

They can also help if you get a flat battery in town, they will charge it for you for a small donation and offer a scooter to hire while yours is being charged.

Terms of Service

(quoted from the website)

"To hire equipment from Littlehampton Shopmobility, you must be a member of the charity. To become a member all you need to do on your first visit is register with two forms of identity. You can also pay a little more and become a member of the Bognor Regis Shopmobility schemes. We have a modest annual membership charge, we endeavor to keep all costs to a minimum to be affordable to everyone.

Our fleet is maintained for optimal use. If you wish to visit local attractions by car you can hire one of our travel scooters that can easily be folded down to fit into the boot of most cars."

You can also Register your scooter

(I have quoted from the website)

"Our scooter registration service is strongly recommended to help safeguard your scooter against theft and increase the chances of its recovery. The service is used solely for the police."

Freedom to explore

(I have quoted from the website)

"Our powered scooters are suitable for all users and occasions. Some are small enough to fit into the boot of a car providing our members the freedom to go far and wide.

Visiting a hospital, local attractions, breeze along the seafront and River Arun, or simply going shopping, we have the best solution to meet your needs.

We also hire wheelchairs, rollators (walkers), and crutches.

Our services are open to the disabled, temporary disabled. All users must be 16 years or older.

Hiring

To members who don't own their vehicle, we offer half, full-day, and long-term hiring."

Littlehampton Shop Mobility is conveniently located just off the town center, near St Martin's CarPark. They have parking bays at the shop for disabled users and easy access to the pedestrian High Street shops."

We were lucky enough to be able to do a short film with Chairman Alan Gammon and June Caffyn, I'll leave the link down below so you can watch it, they share more about how Littlehampton Shop Mobility came about and talk more about what happens within the shop, and in the back. Also sharing the story of why the scooters all have names.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the Littlehampton Shop Mobility, and enjoy and watching the short film, don't forget when you come down to visit, to pop in and say hello to Littlehampton Shop Mobility, June and Alan would love to meet you.

If you live local and feel that you may have some spare time to volunteer a few hours please contact June or Alan or pop in and have a chat with them.

Or if you feel that you may have some equipment that you no longer use and would like to donate it to Littlehampton Shop Mobility, again please contact them or pop in they would love to hear from you.

If you are reading this and think there is somewhere that would be a good place for Rarars Adventures to visit whether it's a group or charity or just a location that we haven't visited yet to share with others with visible & invisible disabilities, please get in contact and let me know, I'm always looking for new places to visit to help share what is out there to help others find new things to see and do.
